What is the Blockathon

Blockathon is a crypto-epic 72 hour competition which aims to tackle real world problems by unleashing the potential of Blockchain Technologies.

Built especially for cypherpunks, hardcore developers, crypto enthusiasts, and all Blockchain pioneers who want to build and create new solutions for the decentralized future.

Three Epic Days

Submit a team application (5 members max) or join a team on the registration day.

Solve Real Problems

Use Blockchain + AI + VR + AR + Drones + Self Driving Cars to solve real problems and build cool stuff with awesome people. Such disruption. Much Decentralization. Wow.

Compete

Compete for the title of Blockmasters. There will be a mystery prize presented by Satoshi Nakamoto.

Application Process

Minimum criteria to join the Blockathon is :

  • Your surname is Buterin
  • You have built your own Public Blockchain and included zK-SNARKs, zk-SPARKs and zK-STARKs and sharding the F*** out of it.
  • Dropped out of at least 2 Ivy League schools

The Blockathon is aimed to provide learning, fun, and to help build really cool projects! Everyone is welcome to apply given that you are willing to put the effort in and to produce good work. 

All applications will be reviewed by the Blockathon team in order to guarantee a high standards of competitors. Each team member must submit a separate application. 

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be a Blockchain Developer / have coding skills?
No, everyone of all skills are welcome to join the hackathon. Whether you are student, designer, entrepreneur or someone who is just interested in the Blockchain space, anyone is welcome to join!

How many per team?
Each hacking team would have 3-5 people per team with a mix of developers, designers and entrepreneurs.

How much does it cost to participate?

$10 AUD worth of ETH.

This is to cover and be pooled as part of the hackathon prize.

Can I work on my project before the event?

Yes. You are allowed to work on a project prior to the event

 

What is the judging criteria?

The judging criteria for the event will be based on:

  • How innovative the solution is for the Blockchain ecosystem

  • Product Market Fit

  • Prototype

  • Pitch delivery
